A PDF without page numbers is frustrating to reference in a meeting, difficult to navigate in print, and unhelpful when a reader needs to flip to a specific page. Adding page numbers is a small change that makes any multi-page document significantly more usable, whether you are distributing a report, binding a manual, or archiving a long contract.
This tool stamps a page number on every page of your PDF in the position and format you choose. You can place numbers in the header or footer, align them left, centre, or right, and set a starting number so the count reflects the document's actual section numbering rather than always beginning at 1.
The entire process runs in your browser — your PDF is never uploaded, so even confidential documents remain private. Download the numbered version in seconds and your document is immediately more navigable for everyone who receives it.

Frequently asked questions
Can I start numbering from a page other than 1?
Yes. Set the starting number to any value. This is useful when the document is part of a larger work and the page count should continue from a previous section.
Can I skip the cover page and start numbering from page 2?
Set the starting page option to begin stamping from the second physical page. The first page (cover) will have no number, and page 2 will be labelled as page 1 (or whatever starting number you set).
Will page numbers overlap existing content?
Page numbers are placed in the header or footer margin area. If your document already has very tight margins with content extending to the edge of the page, there is a small risk of overlap — keep this in mind and check the output.
Can I remove page numbers after adding them?
No. Once stamped, page numbers are part of the page content and cannot be cleanly removed from the output file. Always keep a copy of the original before applying page numbers.
Is the file uploaded anywhere?
No. The page numbering runs entirely in your browser using local PDF processing. Your document is never transmitted to any server.
